I recently read about a centenarian who was interviewed on NPR. When asked if, at 100 years of age, she had any regrets, she replied that she had just one. She said  "I regret not learning to play the violin at 60, because if I had, I would have been playing for 40 years already."

I found this story inspiring because, I myself, after practicing law for 20 years, decided to return to school to pursue a Ph.D. in Communications.

Having completed a Master's Degree in Rhetoric and Communication in the late 80's I attended law school, graduated and embarked upon a legal career.  Now, after 20 years of legal practice, I have returned to school. It's never too late to follow your bliss!

Currently, I am a Ph.D. Student in the College of Communications at Penn State University. This Portfolio has been submitted in partial satisfaction of requirements for COMM 502, which is the Graduate Pedagogy Class taught by Dr. Anne Hoag.
